The Formula Drift season started off with a bang (many of them actually)!
Among the usual cast of characters were a few newcomers, including the most anticipated addition to the US FD Series and to the Bridges Racing/Achilles Radial team, Daigo Saito.
Daigo Saito is a very decorated drifter in Japan and it’s crazy thinking of him as a rookie. He showed he is a driver to be watched by landing a 3rd place finish in his first US FD Event, while taking the points lead in the X-Mini Rookie Challenge and the Garrett Turbo V8 Hunting Challenge.
I’m extremely excited to be shooting again this season for Bridges Racing and Achilles Radial.

First off, Ryan Tuerck’s Mobil1/Red Bull Camaro is one of my favorite FD cars to shoot. Very photogenic and easy on my autofocus.
I thought this shot was particularly cool because someone’s AlienBee popped right as I was taking this photo. The backlight picked up the smoke, accentuated shadows, and created some flare, resulting in a really dramatic shot.

Bridges Racing: Formula D Round 7 on Flickr.

Robbie Nishida and the Bridges Racing Team ended the season strong with an appearance in the Great Eight and coming very close to beating Chris Forsberg to enter the Top 4!
I’m looking forward to a BIG 2012 FD Season.

Ryen Tuerck’s RedBull/Mobil1 Chevy Camaro. Another very photogenic car.
I think the contrast of the paint job was especially kind to my autofocus because my keeper rate on this car was really high.
